Installing low-voltage equipment on a light pole could hardly be easier. The VTAP converts the pole's high-voltage AC into low-voltage DC or PoE with a plug-and-play kit that mounts in minutes.
Rugged, weatherproof and low profile, the VTAP series is the most affordable power conversion system for street lights available. When consistent AC power is already on the pole, it is the most cost-effective way to add a camera.

Do I need an electrician?
Often not: the LTAP add-on connects to the pole's twist-lock photocell. If the street light runs on 277 V or 480 V rather than 110/220 V, an electrician must install a step-down transformer before anything is connected.
What if the pole is on a timer?
The VTAP only has power when the pole does. For poles on timers or with unreliable power, pair the camera with our Outdoor DC UPS Backup Power instead.
Whose permission do I need?
Always get permission from the pole owner, often the city, before installing equipment. Unauthorized installations can be removed and fined.
