Comparison

Mobile surveillance trailer companies, compared.

Most comparison pages compare spec sheets. The decisions that actually bite are how you buy, what platform you commit to, what the vendor is willing to publish, and when the unit arrives. Every factual cell below is sourced; every company gets its real strengths and a straight answer on who it suits.

“Not publicly specified” means the information was not found in the vendor’s public materials, not that the vendor lacks the capability. “Best for” is our reading of that public information, not a statement of fact. Competitor rows reflect a September 2026 review of public sources; verify current specifications and pricing with each company before buying.

Where the difference shows up

The six things buyers find out afterwards.

01

Lead time

Imported units run eight to ten weeks from order to arrival. We build to order in two to four. If coverage is tied to a start date, that gap is the whole decision.

02

It arrives as a shell

A container unit lands stripped, and finishing it is on you. Ours leaves Rexburg built, wired and tested as one unit.

03

Nobody helps you place it

Once an import is delivered the seller is done. We walk the siting logic with you, because a trailer in the wrong spot records nothing useful.

04

The margin is already gone

Every distributor in the chain adds their points and the end customer pays all of them. Going direct to the manufacturer leaves that margin with you.

05

Forced hardware

Many units ship locked to their own cameras and software. We custom outfit each build for the cameras and VMS you already run.

06

Parts and service, later

When an overseas unit needs a part, the clock starts over. Ours are built here by the people who answer the phone.

How a comparison usually goes

Send us the other quote. We will answer it straight.

01

Send the configuration

Whatever you are pricing: solar capacity, mast, camera package and the quoted lead time. We are not asking for the vendor's name.

02

We answer it in writing

Ours against it, line by line, in the format your procurement group needs. Including where the other unit is genuinely stronger.

03

We build it

Built to order in Rexburg, Idaho. Two to four weeks from the day your configuration is locked, in the order they are locked.

04

It arrives ready

One unit, built, wired and tested. No container to unpack, no finishing work, no electrician on the schedule.

Before you decide

What comparison shoppers ask us.

Why is the imported unit cheaper on paper?

Sometimes it genuinely is, and if price is the only variable that matters we will say so rather than waste your time. What the sticker usually leaves out is the eight to ten week wait, the finishing work on a unit that arrives as a shell, and having nobody to call when a part fails. Price the total, not the line item.

How can you be less expensive than a distributor?

Because we are the manufacturer. Most integrators buy through a distributor who marks the unit up and adds their points, then the integrator adds theirs, and the end customer pays for every layer. There is no layer between you and the people who build it here.

Can I use my own cameras and VMS?

Yes, and it is one of the more common reasons people switch. Each unit is custom outfit for the camera hardware and video management system you already run, so you are not being asked to rip out a working stack to buy a trailer.

Is the two to four weeks real, or a best case?

It runs from the day your configuration is locked, not the day you first call, and units enter the build queue in that order. If you have a hard date tied to a project start, tell us the date and we will tell you straight whether it is achievable rather than booking it and hoping.

We already own units from another manufacturer. Is that a problem?

No, and a mixed fleet is normal. Plenty of buyers reach us after a unit did not hold up, which is why we ask what you are running now. Knowing what failed tells us what to spec differently rather than selling you the same disappointment in a different color.

Do you sell to integrators and resellers?

Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. Factory direct pricing exists so the margin stays with the integrator instead of the distributor chain. If you are quoting an end client, tell us and we will quote it so the numbers work for you.

What if the other unit really is the better fit?

Then we will tell you. We would rather lose a quote than sell a trailer into a site it cannot cover, because a unit that underperforms comes back to us anyway as a support problem and a bad reference.

What is not on this page, and why

Exclusions.

Sharpvue

Our software partner. Sharpvue OS is the platform on Vorp Energy builds, so it appears in the platform column, not as a competitor row.

Rhombus, Spot AI and similar software-only platforms

They publish trailer comparisons but sell no off-grid hardware; they need existing powered cameras, so they are not an alternative for a trailer decision.

Alarm.com, OpenEye and other VMS vendors

Platforms a trailer can feed, not trailer makers.

Other providers

Pro-Vigil, 2M Technology, Backstreet Surveillance, Big Red Trailers, Valorence and Zedcor also operate in this category. They are not compared here yet because a sourced review of their published information to the standard above is not complete.

Research and methodology

How this page was made.

This comparison draws on publicly available information: each company's website, product documentation and press releases. Where a specification, capability or price is not published, the table says “Not publicly specified” rather than guessing. Statements of fact are cited below; “best for” is our interpretation of that public information.

Competitor products and prices change. Competitor information reflects a review completed in September 2026; we re-check it at least every 180 days. Verify current specifications and pricing directly with each manufacturer before making a purchasing decision.
